Kenya still lingers in the deep recesses of my mind. It was a remarkable trip filled with an amazingly abundance of wild animals everywhere we traveled. Peter, our driver and guide, was also a remarkable companion. His devotion to us was so appreciated. When he left us in Masai Mara for 4 days I thought we might not see him again. What a nice surprise to have him waiting for us at the airport to spend one last day with us in Nairobi. Thank you for arranging that nice surprise.
The Masai guides at the Porini Lion camp were also marvelous. They took us to destinations where we viewed the lions during a rival challenge; a cheetah kill; a crocodile attack and kill; an family of elephants crossing to the river; a great migration crossing; found the illusive leopard; picnics on the plains surrounded by animals and magnificent views, all with their calm connection with these animals. It was an enlightening experience. My granddaughter volunteers at a zoo in Honolulu, Hawaii and was so thrilled to see these magnificent animals in their natural surroundings.
All of us have now returned to Australia and we had a most wonderful experience. You did a great job for us with Morocco some years ago, but this time you have excelled. It has been outstanding and better than we ever imagined.
The selection of the National Parks to the East and then more around Nairobi meant that we were never bored and had wonderful experiences. Initially I was concerned that 14 days may have been too long. That was definitely not the case. Each place was entirely different in both animals and scenery.
My memories of standing on the Shetani Lava flow, in the Rift Valley and overlooking the enormous Maasai Mara are truly memorable. Photos will never do something like that justice. The photos of the animals however are a different story. To be so close was spectacular. A chase just in front of us between a cheetah and an impala was memorable. The sensitive side of our group is happy it was not a success, but very close!
The accommodation was very special and well organized. We were early in the season but each of the places seemed to go even more out of their way. In Karen Blixen Camp where we were the only guests the staff actually put our evening table out on the lawn. We had candle lit meal with hippos barely meters away.
Finally our driver/guide, John who was with us for the entire time was excellent. He was an excellent guide but he was a spectacular driver. There had been quite a bit of rain around, although we missed it until 6 inches in the last 12 hours in Nairobi. I do quite a bit of competitive rally work and how I saw him address some of the mud showed he was in a special class. Despite industrial amounts of mud on the car on many days the vehicle was always spotless the next day.
I had always felt this safari would be a one off, I am not so sure now!! Once again thank you for everything you did.
Absolutely amazing, this was trip or adventure was the outstanding. Your company far exceeded our expectations in every way. Our guide Steve was great, he made it clear he was there to insure we enjoyed our visit. The tented camps were amazing, the staff catered to us and made sure we always felt safe no matter where we were. The meals were excellent and the staff was always pleasant.
If I could afford it I’d come back tomorrow. Oh our guide at Maasai Mare(Jackson was extremely knowledgable and accommodating not only did he provide interesting facts about the animals we encountered he also provided hot water bottles and blankets on cool mourning game watching trips. Johnston provided outstanding service at the camp and we had great massages by “Ann and Vera”. All and all a very rememberable experience and one we’ll always recall with smiles.

We had Steve and Tony as our guides and I cannot imagine doing it without them. They went way beyond the job description to make sure we were all safe and comfortable.
As you can imagine this trip was at times out of our comfort zone but Steve and Tony took excellent care to make sure we were all ok and had what we needed. They were excellent at explaining everything, driving safely, getting us places on time but what stood out the most is how they made us feel like they were with family.
This trip was very important to all of us and one we will never forget. We will always remember Steve and Tony fondly and with much gratitude. Anyone would be very lucky to have them as their guides.
Thank you and all the best,
Just a quick note here to tell you how great my safari experience was! A life changing experience really. I was on a ten day Safari, with the party of Cathy. Our guides were Steve and Tony. They were simply the best. What a wonderful experience. I’m at a loss for words, thank you so much, sincerely,
I understand that you assisted my sister, Cathy and Jen to create our itinerary, etc. Your attention to detail was appreciated. The trip was fantastic and life altering. All the accommodations were terrific and the people serving us caring and professional. Our guide, Tony was superb looking out for our safety, expertly interpreting the flora and fauna, finding the animals in the natural habitat, providing an historical perspective, driving deftly in all conditions and always being patient and kind.
We have all returned to our various homes safe and sound. I can’t thank you enough for putting our Safari of a lifetime together for us. Everything was top shelf…the accommodations, food, all the staff and above all else, our guides Tony and Steve were amazing.
As you can imagine words cant relay the wonderful experiences we all had, from the first sighting of an elephant and a cheetah with cub…to the magical watering hole at Sweetwaters…to the big cats at Porini Lion Camp and our local exemplary guides there.
If there is anything that I would say for future Safaris the 10 hour drive from Amboseli to Sweetwater was a bit to long for three young kids but in the big picture of our fantastic Safari managed faultlessly by your company everything was outstanding.
I would recommend your company to anyone interested on having a first class experience.
Many Thanks Again
Thank You Jeff, AND all the wonderful staff at Experience It! Tours, for another remarkable tour in Africa! We recently returned from a 2 week tour of Kenya that truly lived up to the old cliché of a “trip of a lifetime”. We covered a lot of ground visiting Tsavo East & West, Amboseli, Samburu, the Laikipia area, and the Masai Mara. The trip was designed so we had only one day of long road travel, but driving the African inter country highway is an experience in itself.
The accommodations were fantastic and varied. We stayed in business class hotels when in Nairobi, but when in the bush we stayed at Tented Camps, Lodges, and ranch houses. The ranch houses were luxurious, and the tented camps were an experience in themselves. We had in-tent showers and flush toilets, as well as wild animals roaming around (mostly at night) with guards for protection. The food was fantastic and varied at ALL the accommodations we stayed at.
But of course the main purpose for our visit was to experience the wild life and the twice daily game drives lived up to our expectations for that. We were fortunate enough to see the ‘Big 5’ as well as loads of other animals and birds. Another thrill was that we were able to experience a Wildebeest crossing in the Mara.
It would be remiss of me not to mention the wonderful Kenyan people. You will learn the meaning of the Swahili terms ‘Jambo’ and ‘Asante Sana’ very quickly as the people are very open, friendly, and very helpful. There is always a smile on their face.
While this may sound like a canned advertisement, we truly had a wonderful tour and hopefully will be able to return in the near future.

First of all, Allan was just unbelievable with his knowledge, courtesy, commitment to seeing everything possible and overall professionalism. He is a great credit to the company.
Highlights are too numerous to mention. It is a great country with really nice people everywhere. Loved the rides between parks to see the geography and local life. As far as game, we felt we saw it all. Plenty of lions, cheetahs, hippos, rhinos, etc etc. Really enjoyed the variety and beauty of the birds. Only thing we missed was a leopard and no flamingos around.
Thoroughly enjoyed every camp. Meals were great. Staff was very professional and caring everywhere. Accommodations -spotless and the variety was clearly well thought out. Finishing at Masai Mara, especially at Ilkeliani tented camp was just perfect.

We had a fabulous time and want to thank you once again for organizing the trip for us
The Entim Mara is simply lovely – not super high end so as to isolate you from the Mara experience, but certainly luxurious enough to feel as though you’re on a special vacation. As you know, we visit Kruger every year on self drive and we love it, but it was extra special to splurge on a camp so nice as Entim Mara.
Ruth made the entire process very easy. She is a great communicator and I always felt she read my emails completely and fully responded to them. We were fairly particular with our requirements and she worked hard to meet them all. Your attention to detail was why we selected your company, and we were not disappointed.
Jackson and John Mark are exceptional guides. We had a wonderful time getting to know them and consider ourselves very lucky to have had a private driver/guide for the duration of our stay. Really, we wouldn’t do it any other way. Most days we stayed out all day and simply had picnics on the Mara – another incredible experience.
We will certainly contact you if we decide to return to Kenya and will be happy to recommend you to others.
