The Masai Mara in Kenya is perhaps one of the highlights of travel in East Africa. This national game park, which is located right on the edge of Kenya, is an amazing place to spot the “Big 5.” Game trackers from all over the world come to visit the Mara to get a first hand glimpse of the migration which starts in July and ends around October.
Masai Mara is about 6 hours drive from Nairobi, however, for those wishing to profit the time, you may consider catching a short flight. Leaving from Wilson airport, you can reach the Mara in around an hour.
As you are looking to stay in the Mara, you may prefer to sleep in one of the wonderful tented camps. Located in the heart of the wild, these camps are outfitted with the modern amenities. For those wanting the game lodge experience, check out one of the many lodges in the Mara.
